Ansari

Ansari was my BA thesis work for Saimaa UAS.

I wanted to find out, if it is possible to feel empathy through aesthetic experience. My piece was an interactive body-related installation. The goal was to create an art experience that mimics the feelings and bodily reactions, that a person feels during anxiety or a panic attack.

I gathered first-hand experiences of these attacks through several interviews, since that time I hadn’t had any personal experiences on the matter. The main materials of the installation are wood and rug yarn.

The installation consists of techniques of sculpture and jewellery art; and the installation itself contains some wearable pieces, that are called Ansarikukkia.
